12-12-12

I am a fan of fun numbers, and in a few minutes, the date will be 12/12/12!!!! How cool is that! This is the last number like this in my lifetime, so I have been trying to think of some fun things to do.
Well, I didn't come up with much, and now I am going to be subbing tomorrow, so going to my kids school and taking their photo at 12:12pm on 12/12/12 isn't going to happen.
However, I did get inspired to figure out what God said to us on 12/12.  So, I looked up every chapter 12, verse 12 in the Bible.  And yes, I know taking verses out of context don't always make sense, and the context adds meaning, but it was very interesting to see how it played out, and so I thought I would share with you all so that you too can read what God shares with us!
 Enjoy!

resolutions...early! Finished crawl space update!

Okay, so its only October but I think I am hitting a point in my life that I need to get serious about some areas of my life. Life just keeps getting busier, its still great, and loving it, but the next stage with the kids is going to require ME to be more self-disciplined, planned and organized!

I also need to make some decisions about my hobbies.  My hobbies...

  • scrapbooking
  • sewing
  • decorating
I love them all, BUT I am also not feeling on top of them or at free will to do what I need to do when I can.  Mainly the scrapbooking part of my life.  I sew when I do need to for gifts; little fixes and things for myself don't get done right away, but eventually they seem to get done.  Decoration requires so much more than just me and my time, so I am okay with that area.  But oh, the scrapbooking and photo area of my life needs some intervention and order soon or I might quit=which I do NOT want to do.

So, Lord, help me figure out the Best (by this I mean best for ME, not anyone else, and my family's life and schedule, as well as my creative outlet needs.) way to bring order and joy to this hobby of mine.  Fulfill its purpose in my life and help me take productive steps towards reaching goals of order, a system, organization, and time to create.  Thank you for making me the way that I am-a photo loving, creative wife and mom.
Amen

Now, the pictures of the finished crawl space! It took many hours of cleaning and ripping out the carpet. As well as lots of organizing and gutting that lead to areas not in the crawl space! But I am happy to show the results.

I wish the pictures gave it justice as much as I feel, but hopefully you get the idea.  Reality of life is that we are truly constantly organizing, but the mold is cleaned off and we are able to check off this area, for a while at least!

Crawl space clean out-must be done!

Wow, its September already. I'm definitely still very new to blogging!
Today, I've started the much needed crawl space clean out! After finding the houses's main mold issue affected the crawl space, its been on the list.  The outside is now fixed, looks beautiful-feeling totally blessed by my Brother's awesome team and their hard work and skills! But now, on to the last clean up from the mold.  I need to take out all the remnant carpet from the crawl space, and wipe down pretty much everything that is in there.  BUT, why not actually gut and organize since I've done that only about once in 8 years! So, the process starts... I'm obviously taking a little break, but I wanted to post some before photos to truly appreciate all the hard work that has and will be happening!

Okay, here is the cleaned out laundry room access to the crawl space!

Here is the part emptied so far and the carpet that will be coming out shortly!

Another view of or large crawl space...man it can hold a lot of stuff aka junk to my hubby!
here's the stuff that I already too out of the crawl space now overtaking my living room, most of this is what needs to be gone through and either junked, donated or reorganized into plastic bins!
And one more view of the crawl space, the desk has plans of moving to Kate's room and the big board is blocking the view of more stuff! Yikes, that side my wait for another day!

Okay, Lord, I can do all things with your strength, please grant me the strength, endurance and persistance to accomplish this task!

I am so thankful for:
  • my dear friends, like Jenny whose birthday is today...she's gotten me through so many things in life!
  • my family! I love them so much and its been a blessing to see the extended family show their love to Uncle Jeff as he is in his final days here on earth.
  • my kids, so fun, so unique, so many times mini Toms and Tobies
  • my home that one of my kids just told me felt so good to be at :)
  • my church that loves people so much they want to reach everyone for Christ!
  • the sunshine today, the birds singing, tulips starting to bloom in my front yard, our neighbors helping us out!
  • God's presence in everything! He is so great and good! Even amongst this hard time with losing loved ones and being so emotional, he is here right beside me carrying me and loving on me.
  • my husband, who is truly my best friend and first person I want to be with.  I'm thankful he's been apart of my life for almost 20 years!!
